What it does

Pangolin combines WireGuard-based client access, reverse proxying and role-based policies in a platform that can be self-hosted or used as a cloud service.

Pangolin is relevant when private applications need both browser access and client-based connectivity. Its current repository combines a zero-trust VPN, reverse proxy and shared identity-policy model, with a connector placed inside private networks. Choose the resource and access method first rather than exposing the whole network by default. The Community Edition is self-hosted under AGPL-3, while Enterprise and Cloud are different operating and licensing choices within the same product family.

Strengths

  • Resource-level policies across access methods
  • Self-hosted Community Edition

Best for

  • Administrators publishing private applications with controlled client access
