What it does
Pattern Monster generates repeating SVG artwork for backgrounds, stationery and packaging. Its open-source project documents filters for stroke or fill patterns, foreground and background colours, and rotation. Outputs include tileable SVG, seamless PNG and copied CSS or SVG code.
Refine a repeating tile
Filter the collection by stroke, fill or colour count, then choose a motif. Change the foreground and background colours and adjust the angle. Stroke width is adjustable on patterns that support it.
Download a tileable SVG for vector work, a high-resolution seamless PNG for an image workflow, or copy CSS directly for a web project. Reviewing several repeats helps reveal lines or clusters that are less obvious in one tile.
The generator’s code is released under the MIT licence, which permits modification and redistribution with the copyright and licence notice retained.
