What it does
PBS provides programme discovery and streaming through its site and app. Its support hub distinguishes ordinary account access from the PBS Passport member benefit.
Start with a programme listing and your PBS station: many videos are available without Passport. Passport extends access to part of the on-demand library as a benefit for eligible station supporters; each station sets its own qualifications. After the station processes the benefit, use its activation code or link and attach it to the personal account you will use on PBS.org and the PBS app. Signing in with a different account will not bring that benefit across.
Passport is available to members in the US and its territories and in Canada, subject to programme rights. It requires an internet connection and does not offer offline downloads, so it is a poor fit for a disconnected journey.
Watch out for
- PBS Passport does not offer offline video downloads.
- Passport streaming is limited to members in the US and territories and Canada, subject to programme rights.
