What it does
PDFShift provides an API for turning HTML or web URLs into PDF and website images. It offers output customization, parallel or asynchronous jobs, webhooks, and automation integrations.
Send raw HTML or a URL and write the returned PDF bytes directly, or set filename to receive a hosted link that lasts two days. Parallel jobs require a webhook and send a separate callback for each source. The free allowance is 50 credits per month: one conversion uses a credit for each started 5 MB of output, so a 14 MB PDF uses three. Default timeouts are 30 seconds free and 100 seconds paid. Overage billing is off by default and can be enabled.
Strengths
- Offers synchronous, parallel, and webhook-based generation workflows.
Watch out for
- Large PDFs consume multiple credits, and hosted output links expire after two days.
Best for
- Automated HTML-to-PDF generation with flexible job delivery
