What it does

Pesapal provides business payment collection through M-Pesa, cards, invoices and branded payment pages. Its Kenya offer also connects online sales with point-of-sale and hospitality systems. A merchant account, business documents and signed agreement are needed for live settlement, with processing charged per transaction.

To bill a customer, open Invoices > Create in the business account. Add a description and recipient message, select the billing currency, and enter the amount, date and customer contact. Send the invoice for payment through the enabled methods. Previous invoices remain in the merchant account, and regular recipients can be saved for later bills. The invoice product also supports reminders for due and overdue balances.

A branded Payments Page suits a seller who wants to share one collection address through WhatsApp or another sales channel. Its appearance can match the business, and successful payments appear in the dashboard. Neither invoice collection nor a hosted Payments Page requires a separate shop website.

Register with the business name, email and password, then follow the activation email. Set the contact details, logo, account users and receiving bank details. For Kenya, the linked onboarding checklist asks a proprietor for business registration, identity and tax documents, bank confirmation and a signed contract. Companies have additional director and incorporation requirements.

Pesapal charges by transaction. Request the schedule for the country, payment methods and products being activated, including any point-of-sale equipment. Agree the withdrawal timetable before relying on collected money to cover supplier payments; the account balance and receipt of funds at the bank are separate steps.
