What it does
PhotoDune is the photography storefront within Envato Market. It sells individual image licences, with photographer portfolios, public collections and favourites for finding and organizing a shortlist.
Open a photo’s item page to see its creator, related tags and licence choices. You can add it to Favourites or a Collection before buying. Halfpoint’s garden-centre photograph, for example, lists a regular licence at USD 5 as a one-time purchase, excluding tax and handling fees. The item price includes Envato’s buyer fee.
Choose the licence, use Buy Now or Add to Cart, then download the purchase from your Envato account’s Downloads page, where the licence certificate is kept. PhotoDune’s Regular licence permits multiple finished products, with a combined limit of 500,000 copies outside websites and no merchandise use. Website visitor numbers are unlimited.
Client permission covers the photograph inside the finished design; it does not let the client extract the image for unrelated work. PhotoDune’s individual purchases have their own terms, while the site’s unlimited-download links lead to the separate Envato Elements subscription.
Strengths
- Individual purchases suit projects that need only one or two photographs.
- Favourites, Collections and creator portfolios support a reusable shortlist.
Watch out for
- Regular licences limit total non-website copies and exclude merchandise use.
- Clients need their own licence to extract and reuse an original photograph independently.
Best for
- Designers purchasing specific stock photographs for defined projects
