What it does
Pie Forms creates WordPress forms and stores submitted entries. Text areas can limit words or characters and show the remaining allowance. The core plugin is available free through the WordPress plugin directory.
In the form editor, add a Text Area and open its edit options. Under Advanced, enable Limit Length, enter the number and choose Characters or Word Count. Save, then preview an answer near the boundary. The counter shows remaining space, and additional input stops at the limit.
A word limit suits a project summary; a character limit is useful when text must fit another system's field. Choose the unit before deciding the number.
Install the core through Plugins > Add New in your WordPress administrator account, then activate it.
