What it does

Pin Payments combines online card processing, hosted Payment Pages, ecommerce connections and platform payment APIs. It serves qualifying Australian and New Zealand businesses, with local business registration and account verification. Joining has no signup or monthly fee, but payments carry transaction charges.

A small business can send a Payment Page without building a checkout. In the dashboard's Payment Page area, copy the link and share it by email, text or invoice. Customers enter the amount by default. You can instead preset the amount, currency and description, and disable changes to the amount. Up to three custom fields can collect details such as a booking reference; those answers appear with the charge in your dashboard.

Fees and account activation

For Australian processing, domestic cards start at 1.6% + A$0.30, while international cards cost 3.4% + A$0.30. Foreign-currency payments settled in AUD add a 1.7% conversion premium to the foreign-currency processing rate. Australian transaction fees include GST; New Zealand fees exclude it. Refunds have no additional processing fee, while a dispute awarded to the cardholder incurs an A$25 administration fee.

Create an account with your name, email and password, then submit business, website, bank and director details through the dashboard. Complete the director or controller's identity check and wait for the activation email.

Strengths

  • The Xero connection combines card and wallet invoice payments with a reconciliation bank feed
  • Separate test and live APIs let developers prepare without creating real charges or bank transfers

Watch out for

  • Australian and New Zealand merchants need a permanent local establishment, business registration and physical address

Best for

  • Small businesses collecting deposits or invoice payments through a shared link
  • Australian or New Zealand Xero users adding online payment to invoices
