What it does
Pipe Flow Calculations provides online, desktop and mobile tools for pipe flow, pressure loss, pumps and flow measurement.
Pipe Flow Calculations separates single-pipe pressure loss, compressible gases, measurement devices and networks. Its pressure-drop route uses Darcy–Weisbach for Newtonian, constant-density flow in closed round or rectangular ducts. Enter dimensions, roughness, density/viscosity and flow or pressure difference; minor-loss K includes fittings. Choose the unknown before supplying the other values. The guide limits the incompressible gas approximation to small pressure changes, stated as less than 5–10%, directing larger changes to compressible tools. It excludes non-Newtonian or multiphase flow and viscosity changing with temperature. Basic web use is limited; full workspace needs a registered account and active access. Desktop Windows/Mac tools add saved scenarios, print and Word .docx/Excel .xlsx reports. Prepaid month/year service options and the desktop page's no-recurring-subscription wording need to be read with the selected offer.
