What it does
Pirate Ship provides USPS and UPS rate comparison, labels, store imports and tracking without a software subscription. Saved packages reduce repeated data entry, and spreadsheets can supply a batch of addresses and parcel measurements. Merchants still pay postage and selected extras, and each user signs in to an account.
Pirate Ship is a focused option for a US parcel operation using USPS and UPS. It accepts store imports or spreadsheets and prints labels on ordinary desktop printers or label printers. Electronic customs forms support international shipments. Software access is free; postage, insurance and other selected shipment services are separate purchases.
Save a frequently used parcel
While creating a label, enter its size and weight and select Save Package. Alternatively, create it under Settings > Saved Packages. Pick the saved entry from Package Details next time. Customs details and extra services can also be retained.
Use Modify Package when this parcel differs from the preset. Select Update Saved Package only if the change should carry into later shipments. Settings > Saved Packages also lets you edit, delete or choose a default preset.
Import packages with different measurements
A CSV, ODS, XLS or XLSX file needs a header row and separate address columns. Add numeric columns for weight and dimensions, then map them as overrides during upload. Blank measurements fall back to the batch's default package.
All rows must share a package type and the same extra-service and customs-form options. Envelopes and boxes therefore need separate batches. After Get Rates, the price shown is an average; inspect Shipment Details to check that the individual measurements were applied.
Give colleagues account access
Registration uses an email address, shipping origin and password. Invite colleagues through Settings > Manage Users. Each receives an invitation to create their own password, but every added user has the same full permissions as the owner, including buying labels and changing payment methods. Removing a user requires contacting Pirate Ship support.

- Saved packages retain dimensions, weight and selected extra services
- Spreadsheet columns can override dimensions and weight for individual parcels
Watch out for
- A spreadsheet batch must share its package type and customs or extra-service options
- Additional users have full owner-level access rather than restricted roles
Best for
- Small US merchants preparing recurring USPS or UPS parcel batches
