What it does
Plausible Analytics is a lightweight, open source web analytics tool. It tracks pageviews without cookies and does not collect personal data or track individual visitors, so the site owner's data stays with them. Dashboards show traffic, top pages, entry and exit pages, sources, locations and devices. You can set goals and custom events, track revenue, build funnels and view user journeys. A 30-day free trial is available and no credit card is required. The service is made and hosted in the EU on European-owned infrastructure, and the code is open source.
The homepage describes a lightweight script, real-time dashboards that update every 30 seconds, automatic scroll depth tracking, codeless goals, revenue tracking, funnels and user journeys, built-in bot filtering, and a dedicated channel for traffic from AI tools such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude. Search Console can be connected to see search queries and organic performance in the same dashboard. UTM campaigns can be tracked with automatic channel grouping. The changelog lists regular updates, including flexible funnels, funnel comparison over time, annotations on traffic charts, full URLs in page reports, sorting sites by traffic, a last 24 hours time range, custom properties in goals, limited dashboard sharing and consolidated views across sites. Plans are named Starter, Growth, Business and Enterprise, and the Stats API is listed with the Business and Enterprise tiers. Team members, shared links and 2FA enforcement for team owners are mentioned. Documentation, a WordPress plugin, a Google Tag Manager integration, a Data Studio connector and an NPM package are linked. Signup asks for full name, email and a password of at least 12 characters. The team states it is independent, self-funded and running since 2018.
