What it does
Drawing Desk combines guided lessons with a drawing canvas, brushes, layers and symmetry tools. Lessons use onscreen steps, text and voice instructions.
A learning goal can lead to a sequence of lessons rather than an isolated drawing. Artist-led masterclasses add video explanations to the guided steps.
The caricature lessons show how specific features shape a character. Professor Sam uses a boxy head and exaggerated hair; Tina starts with a broad smile. Try one lesson, then change a feature in a second drawing to practise the relationship between the shapes.
Outside the lesson, pencils, paint tools and layers support independent work. The Android listing limits varied canvas sizes to the tablet app. It also discloses advertising and in-app purchases.
