What it does

Poptin combines popups and forms with audience segments, newsletters and automated email follow-up. Its continuing free offer includes 250 active email contacts and a 500-email allowance, with separate website visitor limits; registration needs no card.

Poptin measures website visitors and active email contacts separately. A unique visitor is counted over the last thirty days using the site's snippet, while an email contact counts if it was Subscribed or Unconfirmed at any point in the billing cycle. Unsubscribing later in that cycle does not remove the earlier contact count. Keep both measures in view when selecting a combined Emails & Poptins package.

For a targeted welcome offer, collect the relevant interest or other property in a form, build a segment around that property and connect the signup to an automation. The workflow builder combines triggers, emails, delays, tags and conditional splits. A later campaign can address the saved segment without rebuilding a separate audience file.

Choose a combined Emails & Poptins package or a popup-focused plan. The combined Free offer allows 250 active contacts and 500 emails, while free popups cover 1,000 website visitors per month on one domain. Agency or Growth subaccounts separate clients or projects; each active contact counts once across subaccounts.

Start with an email address or Google sign-in; no card is required. Website capture uses a code snippet added to the site. If someone else manages your website, Poptin provides installation instructions that can be sent to the developer before the first popup goes live.

Strengths

  • Captured contact properties can feed segments and email follow-up
  • Conditional workflows combine emails, delays and contact tags

Watch out for

  • A contact that unsubscribes can still count for its current billing cycle
  • Visitor and email-contact capacities are separate limits

Best for

  • Small marketing teams connecting website capture to segmented newsletters and follow-ups
