What it does
Portfolio Charts provides public visualizations of historical portfolio behavior. Published allocations, asset-class information and customizable charts help visitors compare returns, drawdowns and retirement scenarios. A paid Toolkit adds resources for people who want more detailed calculations and downloadable materials.
Portfolio Charts organizes its tools around questions such as accumulation, retirement and risk. Start with an allocation’s ingredients, then choose a chart suited to the question. Looking across several starting dates can reveal a range of experiences that a single return period would hide.
The Heat Map accepts a preset allocation or percentages entered under My Portfolio. Weights must total 100%. Home Country changes the currency, inflation adjustment and available asset data. Each row begins in a different year, while the columns show different holding periods. Hover over a cell to read its annualized, inflation-adjusted return.
These historical calculations assume annual rebalancing and reinvested dividends. They omit taxes and fund fees, so the chart is a way to examine an allocation, not a statement of what a particular account would have earned after costs. The available country datasets also limit how closely the inputs match a visitor’s own market.
The public charts can be read and adjusted without an account. With USD selected, the optional Toolkit costs US$5 per month after a seven-day trial and includes access to its additional resources, community and a monthly US$5 store credit. Membership requires a separate account.
