What it does
Portfolio Visualizer provides portfolio backtests, Monte Carlo simulations, correlations and allocation models. Its free tools support personal and educational use without a login. Paid Basic and Pro plans add capacity, with Pro permitting commercial use.
Model an allocation
Choose Backtest Portfolio to compare holdings over a historical period, or Monte Carlo Simulation to explore possible paths under model assumptions. Keeping the period fixed while changing asset weights makes the comparison easier to interpret.
Access and limits
| Plan | Scope |
|---|---|
| Free | Personal and educational use; up to 15 backtest assets with limited history |
| Basic | Personal and educational use; up to 150 assets and 50 saved portfolio models |
| Pro | Personal and commercial use; up to 150 assets and 150 saved portfolio models |
Free backtests omit current month-to-date results. Basic is US$30 a month billed annually; Pro is US$55 a month billed annually. Start with Try Now for the free tools.
Portfolio Visualizer describes its outputs as hypothetical. Backtests and simulated paths do not establish future results, and investments can lose value.
Strengths
- Different tools cover historical backtests, factor analysis and simulations
- Free tools can be opened without creating an account
Watch out for
- Free portfolio backtests have limited history and no current month-to-date results
- Commercial use requires Pro
