What it does

Preset Cloud is a managed analytics service built around Apache Superset. It provides dataset-based charts, dashboards, a collaborative SQL editor and a semantic layer over connected data.

Preset Cloud runs Apache Superset as a managed service, with dataset-based charts, dashboards and a SQL editor.

Plan Workspace and sharing scope
Starter Free; one workspace, five users and unlimited charts
Professional Three workspaces; scheduled email or Slack reports
Enterprise Custom arrangement; API access available as an add-on

A private Google Sheet connection needs more preparation than pasting its URL. Preset's documented route requires a Google Cloud service account, JSON credentials and Google Workspace administrator setup. The Preset account email must also have access to the sheet. In the toolbar, choose + > Data > Connect Google Sheet, provide the credentials and sheet details, and finish the connection. Add the resulting table under Datasets before using it for charts.

Professional has a 14-day trial. External embedded-dashboard viewers require a separate paid addition on Professional or Enterprise; they do not need their own Preset account to view the embedded result. Workspace membership and external viewer licensing therefore cover different audiences. A larger internal team or a customer-facing embedded report can require a different arrangement from the free workspace.

Strengths

  • Offers a managed Superset service with a permanent small-team tier.
  • Combines SQL exploration with dataset-based visual analysis.

Watch out for

  • External embedded viewers require additional licenses.
  • Starter is limited to one workspace and five users.

Best for

  • Teams wanting managed Superset analytics over existing data sources
