What it does
Printful’s Design Maker is a free design and mockup tool connected to its custom-product catalogue. Users choose a product, add artwork with built-in design tools and save a template in the dashboard before ordering or connecting it to a store.
Printful starts with a catalogue product and its available print areas. Upload PNG or JPG artwork, add text or graphics, then position layers on the front, back, sleeves or other areas that the item supports. The editor warns about print quality and links to product-specific file guidelines. Pattern controls can repeat artwork with adjustable spacing and rotation.
Save the result as a reusable product template, add it to a connected store or download mockups for marketing. Designing and connecting a store are free; a physical order brings product, fulfilment and shipping charges. Premium Images can be placed while designing without a fee, but incur a charge per image and placement when the item is ordered.
Those premium images are licensed for products made and fulfilled through Printful, and a print file containing them cannot be downloaded separately. AI lifestyle mockups are another option for selected apparel when creating a new product: choose a model or isolated-product view, generate a scene and select it before publishing. Existing print requirements still matter even when the preview looks convincing.
