What it does
Private Internet Access offers VPN applications for major desktop and mobile systems and advertises unlimited simultaneous device connections.
PIA permits unlimited simultaneous connections and lists Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and iOS apps. PIA publishes its desktop client code under GPLv3, with separate third-party component terms.
The service uses protocols including WireGuard. Start with the app for your operating system and compare its settings with your intended use; the homepage's broad coverage statement does not mean every platform exposes the same controls.
PIA's policy separates tunnel activity from subscription records. It says it does not keep browsing, user IP, connection timestamp, bandwidth or DNS logs. An email address and payment still activate the account, and non-anonymous payment methods can include general location for tax purposes. That account processing is distinct from the source code you can inspect in a client.
