What it does

ProcessOut provides payment orchestration, monitoring, vaulting and operational tools for merchant payment stacks. Telescope analyzes provider data, while Smart Router can select and retry payment routes. Access is arranged through an account manager; ask for the commercial terms of the monitoring or processing products you need.

Connect existing providers from the Connections page by entering their integration keys. The platform normalizes requests across those connections. Routing can consider transaction characteristics, authentication requirements and fallback paths, while performance analysis compares provider outcomes for similar transaction profiles.

Telescope can import records from payment providers already in use. Start with a defined question, such as how one provider performs for a particular customer market. ProcessOut's statistical routing uses historical results to choose a provider; monitoring alone observes and reports rather than initiating that routing decision.

For operational updates, go to Developers, then Webhook endpoints, and add the server address that should receive event notifications. The message contains an event identifier; retrieve that event's full details through the programming interface before updating the order. The Events tab shows the event data, notification delivery and any retries.

Ask the account manager to confirm the price of Telescope monitoring and which routing, vault and provider connections are included in the agreement.

Strengths

  • Previously stored customer cards can be migrated from a payment provider into the ProcessOut vault.
  • Performance monitoring can flag significant changes across transaction profiles automatically.

Watch out for

  • Projects have a default maximum of ten webhook endpoints; a higher limit requires the merchant experience team.
  • Custom notification-header secrets cannot be read back after saving; changing one requires entering a replacement.

Best for

  • Payment teams comparing authorization outcomes across providers
  • Developers connecting order records with payment-event notifications
