What it does
Project Madurai collects and publishes free electronic editions of older Tamil literary works. The initiative aims to preserve and distribute searchable text.
Choose the edition and encoding appropriate to your reading device before saving a text. Searchable electronic text is useful for locating a phrase, while a study citation may still require the printed source details. The project is a literature archive rather than a general-purpose translation service.
Newer texts use Tamil Unicode, while earlier material may use TSCII. The project also offers EPUB and Kindle formats. Its distribution notice asks that logo/credit headers remain intact and that coordinators be contacted before online redistribution.
