What it does

ProjectSend provides a file-sharing portal with client access, roles, activity features and an API on infrastructure selected by its operator.

ProjectSend organizes ongoing delivery through client accounts and groups. Set access roles, allow clients to upload back when appropriate, and use expiration or download caps for particular files. Replacing an earlier file can notify its recipients, keeping a recurring handover in one portal. Hosting is an operator responsibility. The current ProjectSend 2 release installs fresh and imports an existing site; Legacy remains separate. Its ZIP route requires shell access and the documented PHP/MySQL/nginx stack, while the official Docker image bundles the application dependencies.

Strengths

  • Client-oriented access and role controls
  • Documented REST API

Best for

  • Repeated delivery to clients through an owned portal
