What it does
Proton Pass stores logins, notes, cards and passkeys, with email aliases and free or paid plans for personal use.
Proton Pass pairs a login vault with hide-my-email aliases. A shopping account can use an alias for contact while keeping the associated login in the same vault. Free lists unlimited logins and devices with ten aliases; paid offers add vault/link sharing, attachments, integrated two-factor codes and emergency access.
Account recovery and old-data recovery are different. Proton's help says an email or SMS password reset can restore sign-in while leaving previous encrypted records locked. A prepared recovery phrase can restore both access and data. Set up the appropriate recovery material before the vault becomes the only place holding your important logins.
