What it does
PTC Mathcad Prime combines mathematical notation, units, text, plots and tables in engineering worksheets.
Mathcad Prime combines unit-bearing variables, calculations, text, tables and plots in an engineering worksheet. Its version 12 help distinguishes result-unit placeholders from table definition units: a result placeholder can display or scale the output, while deleting table units does not rebalance the defined data. The symbolic explicit example also requires the Units/Constants in Symbolics option to be selected, so engine settings belong with a reproduced result. Prime supports numerical/symbolic solving and an integration API. After the 30-day full trial, it reverts to limited Mathcad Express unless upgraded; Express is restricted to non-commercial use. Current Prime 12 platform guidance specifies 64-bit Windows 11, with supported desktop Office versions needed specifically for Excel integration.
