What it does

Publicate builds HTML newsletters with reusable content, team editing, exports and analytics. You can send through tools such as Gmail or use Publicate Send after setting up a sending domain. Signup starts a 14-day trial without a card; creating, editing and publishing require a subscription afterward.

For a Gmail-based newsletter, choose Export, then Send via Gmail. Connect the Gmail account and prepare the recipients, subject and preview text in Publicate. Browser-extension insertion is another route into a Gmail draft. This lets a team build the design in Publicate while continuing to send from its Gmail mailbox.

Outlook desktop rendering can differ for backgrounds, rounded corners, fonts and responsive layouts. Publicate documents alternatives including a teaser that opens the web newsletter and a View in browser link using the publication's Share URL. That web version can be updated after sharing, while an email already delivered cannot be edited in the recipient's inbox.

The 14-day trial requires no card. After it ends, you can still access the workspace, but editing, creation and publishing require a monthly or annual subscription. Individual plans are for one person, while Team includes three members and shared editing.

For Publicate Send, open Campaigns > Complete Setup, fill in the company profile and add your sending domain. Add the generated DNS records at the domain provider, then return to Campaigns and choose Check Verification. Plans include a small sending-credit allocation, with additional capacity handled separately.

Strengths

  • A live web version offers a separate destination when mailbox rendering differs

Watch out for

  • Outlook desktop can render some design features differently
  • Editing and publishing require paid access after the trial

Best for

  • Newsletter teams combining branded design with Gmail, Outlook or web-based distribution
