What it does
PxHere is a photo-sharing and stock-image library with browsing by photographers, tags, cameras and collections. It publishes photos under CC0 and provides free personal and commercial use, subject to rights in depicted people and other content.
The Popular Photos view can switch to Latest and filter images by horizontal or vertical orientation. Width and height fields help narrow the results to the dimensions you need. Photo pages show the original resolution, related tags and a link to the photographer’s other images.
Use Free Download Original for the full-size file. The download panel offers a guest route with a captcha; signing in removes that captcha step. Image records also provide copyable embed and credit snippets, although attribution is optional.
PxHere’s licence says identifiable people must not be shown offensively without consent. Its FAQ also explains that trademarks, privacy and publicity rights can still apply despite the CC0 label.
Strengths
- Orientation and dimension filters narrow searches to practical image requirements.
- A guest download option avoids mandatory account registration.
Watch out for
- Guest downloads include a captcha.
- CC0 does not clear every right in depicted people, brands or property.
Best for
- Designers finding free photographs in specific dimensions
- Editors exploring contributors and related subject tags
