What it does
QtPass is an open-source graphical password manager using the pass model of GPG-encrypted files and optional Git synchronization.
QtPass is useful when the file-and-key model of pass is appealing but a graphical interface is preferable. Its current documentation says it can call pass or use gpg2 and Git directly, while keeping the same files on disk. Select a store and its encryption recipients before adding passwords. The application does not turn Git or GPG into a vendor-managed recovery service, so those keys remain part of your backup plan. The download guidance also notes that the Homebrew cask is disabled pending notarization; Mac users should follow the listed distribution options.
Strengths
- Graphical access to a portable pass-style store
- Uses the same encrypted files as pass
Best for
