What it does

Quantpedia organizes quantitative investment strategies from academic research, with trading rules, risk statistics and links to papers. Public strategy pages provide a starting point without an account. Paid plans expand the strategy library and add portfolio modeling, reports and other research tools.

Quantpedia is useful for finding a paper-backed research question before writing a backtest. In Screener, search a term or use filters for markets, instruments and rebalancing periods. The view buttons switch between paper descriptions and risk or return summaries. Open a strategy to examine its rules, original study and related papers.

For example, the public Momentum Asset Allocation entry sets out a monthly rotation rule and identifies its five-asset universe. Its profile also says the reported backtest excludes transaction costs. That detail matters when deciding what assumptions to reproduce in your own test. A source-paper result and a later out-of-sample test cover different periods; compare their dates and methods.

Choose the research depth you need

Paid plan Listed price for 12 months Main distinction
Prime US$399 A selected strategy library and essential portfolio modeling
Premium US$599 Full premium strategy library and related research papers
Pro US$799 Broader modeling, advanced reports, out-of-sample screening and API access

Public strategy summaries remain free. The paid checkout also offers three- and 36-month terms. It asks for name, address, email and a password. Subscriptions expire at the end of the prepaid term and do not renew automatically.

Prime and Premium allow three uploaded equity curves for analysis. Pro removes that upload limit and supports custom benchmarks. The API is a Pro feature for which Quantpedia asks users to contact the team.

Strengths

  • Connects strategy rules and risk characteristics with academic papers
  • Lets researchers filter ideas by markets, instruments and rebalancing frequency
  • Distinguishes source-paper results from out-of-sample research

Watch out for

  • Prime provides a selected strategy library rather than full premium coverage
  • Advanced reports, custom benchmarks and API access require Pro

Best for

  • Quantitative researchers finding strategies to reproduce
  • Systematic investors comparing portfolio models and research assumptions
