What it does

FastField is Quickbase's named mobile data collection product. It combines forms, offline capture, reports and task routing, with a native connection for sending collected data into Quickbase applications.

In Form Sharing > Dispatch/Tasks, choose + Add Task and Dispatch Single Task. Select the form and recipient, prefill job details, and add instructions or a due date. A group recipient uses a shared inbox where workers can claim and release the job.

Status is a custom form value; Dispatch State records delivery and progress. On-Device means downloaded, Started means opened, and Submitted makes the completed report available. In Data & Analytics > Submissions, use the dispatch/task filter with date, form or user filters. A Global Workflow can create a follow-up task from answers.

Which FastField plan?

Plan Main scope
Core Unlimited forms and submissions, offline collection, standard workflows and reports
Pro Adds scheduled tasks, AI workflows, API access and premium integrations
Enterprise Quoted package for larger operational requirements

Core includes three data tables and five custom report templates; Pro includes 75 and 100 respectively. The native Quickbase integration is available across plans. Subscriptions charge per seat.

A direct FastField trial lasts 14 days. Quickbase account administrators who are also realm administrators can start a 30-day trial through Admin Console > Permissions. Accounts are required in either route. A trial expires into cancellation if no subscription is taken. Cancelled accounts lose app and API access, but the portal remains available to retrieve data for 180 days before deletion.

Strengths

  • Group tasks can be claimed and released through a shared inbox.
  • Dispatch State separates downloaded, opened and submitted work.

Watch out for

  • Scheduled tasks and API access require Pro or Enterprise.
  • Cancelled accounts lose app access; remaining data is deleted after 180 days.

Best for

  • Field operations assigning a form to each job and tracking its progress
