What it does
Richard Ishida's Unicode Code Converter presents alternative escaped representations of pasted text, with controls for bare code-point numbers and escaped whitespace.
Paste text into the green input box and choose Convert to inspect its other representations, or convert back from one of the grey representation fields. Outputs include UTF-8 and UTF-16 code units, UTF-32 numbers, HTML numeric references, programming-language escapes and URI percentages. Bare hexadecimal or decimal numbers need the matching Treat bare numbers setting; otherwise a number can be read as ordinary text. A separate option controls newline and tab escapes. Use the Copy control where the browser supports it.
Strengths
- Several escaped-text representations
- Explicit handling of bare code points and whitespace escapes
Best for
