What it does
Rabby Wallet manages accounts and assets across supported Ethereum-compatible networks. Its signing screen previews expected balance changes and displays risk alerts. A desktop browser extension and separate mobile apps are available, with local passwords and recovery backups that serve different purposes.
A website's button label may not describe everything a transaction will do. Rabby's simulation shows expected token movements before signing, and its warning icons explain detected risks. The preview is a tool for inspecting a request, not a guarantee about the site or the final outcome.
Choose extension or mobile
The extension supports desktop Chrome, Brave and Edge. It is not available for Firefox or mobile browsers. On desktop, Create a new address sets up a local password, while I already have an address offers existing-wallet and hardware-wallet routes.
The password opens the extension and protects its local data. Back up Seed phrase now reveals the wallet's recovery words. If the browser data or device is lost, a forgotten password cannot substitute for that backup, and Rabby cannot retrieve it for you.
The iOS and Android apps have their own setup. They offer manual recovery-word backups or encrypted iCloud/Google Drive backups. A cloud backup requires the app password used to encrypt it, so keep that password as well as access to the cloud account.
Review a transaction
Read the expected balance changes, then open any yellow or red warning icons. A disabled signing button calls for resolving or understanding the alert; an unexplained simulation failure is a reason to check the request with the application provider.
Network gas remains payable even though the wallet code is freely available under the MIT license. For ordinary native-token gas payment, the required balance must be on the network being used: ETH held on Ethereum does not itself pay an Arbitrum transaction fee. Rabby provides Fast, Normal, Slow and Custom fee settings.
Strengths
- Transaction previews show expected asset movements before approval.
- The help guides distinguish extension, mobile and hardware-wallet setup routes.
Watch out for
- The extension does not support Firefox or mobile browsers.
- Encrypted mobile cloud recovery also depends on the original backup password.
Best for
- EVM users comparing a transaction request with its expected asset changes
- People managing supported accounts through a browser or mobile app
