What it does
Rabobank Australia offers personal and joint online savings alongside specialist agricultural banking. Its PremiumSaver has no account-keeping fee and rewards a monthly increase in savings with a higher variable interest rate. Customers use a linked account at another Australian financial institution to move money.
Rabobank’s personal and joint savings sit alongside an existing everyday transaction account. This separates saving from the account used for bills and purchases.
How PremiumSaver works
There is no account fee, minimum balance or minimum term. For personal accounts, the closing balance on the last business day of the month must be at least A$200 above the opening balance, excluding interest, to earn the bonus rate. A withdrawal can therefore affect that month’s bonus even if you also make deposits.
Select PremiumSaver in your account and open Rates & Details to see the applicable rate and whether more money is needed. A regular savings plan can automate deposits. If the balance-growth condition is not met, the lower rate applies for that month.
New savings applicants must be at least 18, live in Australia and be Australian tax residents. They need an Australian bank account in their own name, valid identification and a smart device for the mobile app. Use Apply Now on the chosen account page to begin.
The High Interest Savings Account acts as the primary account when combined with other Rabobank online savings products. Transfers are subject to clearing times, so a deposit made on the last business day may arrive too late for a monthly condition.
Farm businesses have a separate agribusiness service with a dedicated rural manager and team. The Australian products are issued by Rabobank Australia Limited.
