What it does
Rainbow’s free wallet app puts crypto balances, live charts and activity on mobile and in a browser extension. Provider-powered perpetual trading and prediction markets have separate costs and access conditions.
Rainbow keeps market data near your wallet. You can follow supported assets, watch a public Ethereum address and use activity notifications without confusing a watched balance with funds you control. Its free wallet app is distinct from the capital and transaction charges involved in trading or membership rewards.
The extension starts with Create a new wallet. Reveal your Recovery Phrase, write down the words in order, then complete the check for the fourth, eighth and twelfth words. A local password locks the extension afterward. This creates a wallet rather than registering a conventional online account.
In the mobile app, backup controls sit under the three-dot menu, Settings, then Wallets & Backup. Cloud backups can show an Up To Date status. If you choose manual backup, save the secret phrase for each wallet group; backing up one group does not cover another with different words. Rainbow cannot restore missing recovery information for you.
Rainbow Black currently uses a token-staking arrangement. The published Black tier requires 20,000 RNBW tokens, and its swap-fee benefit is returned as more staked RNBW. It is not a cash refund or a promise that transactions cost nothing. Unstaking carries a 10% exit penalty, and the token's market value can change. Basic wallet use does not require joining that program.
The app also advertises Hyperliquid-powered perpetuals and prediction-market access. Rainbow sets an entry age of 18, or the local age of majority, and requires the relevant service to support your country. Check the intended market's access rules and final quote. Leveraged positions can lose money quickly; the wallet's charts do not reduce that risk.
