What it does
RAL Colours provides an official reference for RAL CLASSIC, RAL EFFECT and RAL DESIGN SYSTEM plus. Its online collection identifies colours by code and name, with physical samples and licensed digital libraries offered separately.
Use the colour collection to locate a RAL code, then choose the reference needed for your project. The downloadable libraries supply RGB and Lab values for importing into Adobe applications, Corel and Allplan.
The three-library set costs EUR 69 before VAT as a one-time purchase; each individual library is EUR 29.50 before VAT. A customer account is required for the download, which can take up to two working days to appear after purchase. Each purchase covers one user.
Files include ASE and ACO colour swatches, Corel XML and an Allplan PAL palette. The PAL file is not compatible with Archicad. Metallic RAL EFFECT colours and pearl or aluminium CLASSIC colours appear as solid colours on screen. RAL limits these libraries to visual design: use physical samples for final colour decisions, and a separate suitable method for colour measurement.
Strengths
- Official codes connect the three RAL colour families.
- RGB and Lab libraries can be bought individually or together.
Watch out for
- Digital libraries are licensed per user and require a customer account.
- Metallic and pearl effects cannot be assessed from the solid screen representation.
Best for
- Designers specifying RAL colours across digital layouts and physical materials.
