What it does
Ramp imports accounting fields, applies coding rules and prepares card charges, reimbursements and other spending records for sync or export. Its Free plan includes basic rules and QuickBooks Online or Xero connections. Businesses apply for an account, with separate US and Canadian eligibility requirements.
From a card charge to an accounting entry
Ramp's accounting setup starts with the chart of accounts and other supported fields from the connected accounting system. Finance staff map the accounts used for transactions and reimbursements, then add rules based on merchant or card details.
The Accounting tab groups records by what is still needed. In Needs Review, complete the required fields and mark the item Ready. Use Sync all for a direct integration or Export all for the Universal CSV workflow. Receipt files transfer only when the provider supports them and receipt upload is enabled.
Choose the accounting date deliberately: a purchase made on 28 February but cleared on 1 March falls into different periods depending on that setting.
Plan choices
| Plan | Software price | Accounting access |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 per user per month | Basic rules, QuickBooks Online and Xero |
| Plus | $15 per user per month, plus a team-size platform fee | Additional integrations, coding automation and multi-entity features |
| Enterprise | Custom annual quote | Further enterprise connections and implementation options |
Ramp advertises a 20% saving for annual billing on Plus. Procurement is an additional module for Plus or Enterprise. The subscription price is separate from any charges attached to a particular payment method.
Who can apply?
US applicants need a registered corporation, limited liability company or limited partnership, a US physical business address, an employer identification number and at least US$25,000 in a linked business bank account. Most operations and corporate spending must be in the US; individuals and sole proprietors are excluded.
Canadian businesses have a separate application route that does not require a US entity. Eligible corporations, incorporated partnerships and nonprofits need at least CA$25,000 in connected accounts. Quebec and the territories are currently excluded.
Start with a business email at Sign up, choose the country and provide company and ownership details. Bank connections and identity checks form part of the application. Minimum balances do not guarantee approval.
