What it does

rapidmail provides newsletter design, recipient lists, segmentation and automated email sequences. Occasional senders can pay after each mailing, while monthly plans allow regular newsletters. Account creation and the first mailing to up to 2,000 contacts are free.

Before activating a rapidmail automation, send yourself the individual messages or the full sequence. Its workflow tools let you choose a subscription, recipient activity, or date as the starting point, then add waits and if/then branches. A membership organisation could use a date-based reminder; a retailer could branch a follow-up according to a tagged interest. Reviewing the complete sequence makes gaps between those messages easier to catch.

Choose billing based on sending frequency as well as list size. Pro Versand bills after each mailing rather than charging monthly; subscriptions use the account's active-contact count. The first mailing to up to 2,000 contacts is free, which does not make repeat sending permanently free. For up to 500 contacts, the current packages are:

Package Starting price, excluding VAT Automation allowance
Pro Versand EUR 20 per mailing One workflow
Essential EUR 15 per month One workflow
Performance EUR 25 per month Five workflows
Unlimited EUR 35 per month Unlimited workflows

Monthly plans permit unlimited newsletters. You can change packages as your sending frequency or contact count changes.

Strengths

  • Automation messages can be test-sent before activation
  • Per-send billing is available for occasional newsletters

Watch out for

  • The lower packages restrict active automation workflows to one

Best for

  • German-speaking organisations comparing occasional newsletters with regular automated follow-ups
