What it does
RapidPipeline prepares CAD and mesh assets for visualization, web and extended-reality projects. Its Windows Twin Studio application combines model processing, materials and rendering, with desktop subscriptions and a 14-day trial. Enterprise automation uses separately licensed command-line or REST API access.
Twin Studio's documented sequence starts by importing a CAD or 3D file and adjusting its import settings. Select the meshes to process, choose an Action, change its settings and press Run. The scene tree controls selection and visibility, while wireframe and UV views expose geometry and texture layout. Right-clicking a mesh offers unwrapping methods; UV View shows the resulting layout.
Current export actions expose settings for formats including FBX, GLB, glTF, OBJ and STL. Production rendering can save PNG, OpenEXR, JPEG or TIFF images, and the current renderer provides quality presets and pause/resume controls. Python scripting is available according to the user's plan.
Twin Studio remains a beta preview. Results can be exported, but project-file saving/loading and command-history loading are not yet supported. Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, is required; the published minimum is 8 GB RAM, with 16 GB recommended. Processing is local, while licence authentication needs an internet connection and a token associated with a RapidPipeline account.
| Plan | Access and processing scope |
|---|---|
| Desktop Pro | One semi-floating seat |
| Desktop Industrial | Adds scripting |
| Enterprise | Command-line or REST API batch processing |
The standard terms restrict unattended processing through ordinary seat-based tools or plug-ins unless separately agreed in writing. Users retain their rights in the content they supply and process; the software itself remains licensed.
Strengths
- Mesh selection, processing actions and UV inspection share one desktop workflow.
- Current export settings and rendered-image outputs support several downstream uses.
- Enterprise command-line and REST API routes are explicitly available for automation.
Watch out for
- The beta application does not yet save or load its own project files.
- Twin Studio currently requires 64-bit Windows and online licence authentication.
- An ordinary plug-in or seat licence does not automatically permit unattended batch processing.
Best for
- Teams preparing product CAD for visualization and web delivery
- Businesses needing licensed repeatable asset-processing workflows
