What it does

RavenPack turns financial news, filings, transcripts and other text into structured events and sentiment data. Quantitative teams can use story-level analytics or company-level factors in their own models and dashboards. Access begins with a trial request and an account, with pricing arranged through RavenPack.

Choose News Analytics when you need detail about individual stories and events. It adds entity and topic tags, sentiment, relevance, novelty and event timing to financial text. Those fields help separate a new company development from repeated coverage of the same story.

Company News Factors provide a more aggregated route. Document-level factors describe media attention around a company; event-level factors group specific developments such as earnings, dividends or credit events. Each group carries measures such as volume and average sentiment, so a rise in coverage need not be confused with a more positive tone.

For example, a researcher studying earnings reactions could keep earnings-related sentiment separate from general company mentions, then compare the features with their own market observations. The sentiment is a model-derived description of text, not a reported financial result or a promised trading outcome.

Company News Factors are offered six times daily, with history described from 2001 and delivery through RavenPack or Snowflake. These are useful distinctions when choosing between an intraday dashboard and a longer historical study.

Use Request Trial, or the access form on the Company News Factors page, to describe the dataset you need. It asks for a name and email; RavenPack requests a business email and provides a contact option for people without one. Existing users sign in with email and password. Discuss pricing, source rights and the required history as part of that access request.
