What it does
Readability Formulas provides free text-readability tools and an editor, with file batches, selected formulas, text statistics and full-text or sample scoring.
Paste text or choose TXT, DOCX, RTF, HTML or PDF files in Readability Formulas, then select formulas and settings before processing. The system asks for at least 200 words; for texts above 10,000 words it suggests random samples, which is sampling advice rather than an upper limit. Compare the English reading-level estimates and copy the results, then inspect editing flags in context. Options that change difficult, proper or repeated-word handling can change the score. The Version 4 PLUS batch editor is marked beta. These measures describe textual features and do not test a particular reader’s understanding.
