What it does
Online reading games, songs and activities with parent and school access routes.
Reading Eggs uses games and rewards to encourage repeated reading practice. Its public site links lesson overviews, a library and sample lessons, which are sensible places for an adult to inspect the approach before starting a sequence. Choose a reading activity and ask the child to read or explain something away from the reward screen afterwards. The trial is separate from an ongoing membership.
Check the device before starting: the current technical page says Amazon Fire tablets are not compatible and recommends a desktop or tablet rather than a phone. It also lists supported browsers and iOS/Android versions.
