What it does
redirect.pizza manages domain redirects and their HTTPS certificates. Add source and destination addresses, then point the old hostname's DNS to the service. A free account supports five source hostnames and 250,000 monthly requests; paid plans expand capacity and routing options.
Redirect an old domain over HTTPS
- Create an account and add the old hostname as the Source URL, with the new address as its destination.
- Add both the bare domain and its www version if you use both. Each counts as a separate source hostname.
- Under Hostnames, copy the required DNS records to your DNS provider. You need permission to change that domain's DNS.
- Wait for the green checkmark. redirect.pizza then requests the SSL certificate and handles HTTP and HTTPS traffic.
The default is a permanent 301 redirect. Settings also control response type, path forwarding and query-string forwarding. Decide whether an old product path should remain intact or lead to one fixed page.
Capacity and routing
| Plan | Source hostnames | Monthly requests | Path rules |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 | 250,000 | 10 |
| Basic | 15 | 1 million | 100 |
| Pro | 100 | Unlimited | 5,000 |
The free plan needs no card. Regex rules, wildcard subdomains and country-based destinations start at Pro. DNS changes may take up to 24 hours.
Strengths
- Manages HTTPS certificates for redirected hostnames.
- Provides a management API and several redirect response types.
Watch out for
- www and non-www sources consume separate hostname capacity.
- Advanced routing features require a higher plan than Free or Basic.
Best for
- Teams maintaining old domains and URL routes during website changes
