What it does
Refiner collects contextual feedback through web and mobile product surveys, email, and links. User segments, launch triggers, response charts, and integrations connect feedback with product data.
Refiner separates eligibility from timing. Define the Target Audience using user segments, choosing whether all selected segments or at least one must match, and exclude groups that should not receive the survey. Then choose a Launch Trigger.
For example, target established customers and show a feedback survey when someone visits a relevant feature page. Page rules can match an exact URL, a prefix, contained text or a wildcard; multiple page rules match when at least one is true. Other triggers include a time delay, a tracked event or a manual call from your application.
Segment-based targeting is unavailable when the JavaScript SDK runs in Anonymous Mode. Choose the operating mode around the customer data the survey needs.
Trial and continuing free access
New accounts get a 30-day trial with 100 responses and no card requirement. After the trial, or after cancelling a paid subscription, the account moves to a free plan with Essentials features and 25 responses per month.
Paid plans allow unlimited responses. Essentials includes 20 published surveys, four environments and 20 segments; Growth expands those allowances and adds event-based targeting, translations and more integrations. Pricing depends on the audience and traffic being served, so response volume alone does not determine the paid package.
Strengths
- Audience eligibility and launch timing are configured separately
- Segment inclusion and exclusion refine who can see a survey
Watch out for
- JavaScript Anonymous Mode does not support segment-based targeting
Best for
- Product teams collecting feedback from defined user segments
