What it does

Revolut manages account information, payments and transaction history through its app. The UK service has a free Standard plan and four paid plans with different cash-withdrawal allowances. Account details identify the serving entity during the transition to Revolut Bank UK Ltd.

Choose a plan around the allowance you use

These are the published UK monthly prices and fee-free cash-withdrawal allowances:

Plan Monthly price Cash allowance per rolling month
Standard Free £200 or five withdrawals, whichever comes first
Plus £3.99 £200
Premium £8.99 £400
Metal £16.99 £800
Ultra £60 £2,000

Withdrawals above the relevant allowance cost 2%, with a £1 minimum. Standard’s first physical card is free, but delivery has a separate charge displayed before ordering. Virtual cards are free.

For Standard, exchanging more than £1,000 in a month adds a 1% fair-usage fee. Revolut uses its own exchange rate and displays applicable charges before confirmation. Other international payment fees depend on the route, so the displayed total matters as well as the plan subscription.

Which entity holds the account?

From the app’s home screen, open Details. Revolut’s UK transition guide identifies either Revolut Bank UK Ltd or Revolut Ltd there. The transition preserves the account number, sort code, IBAN and earlier transaction and statement history. Savings, trading and crypto products retain their own terms and providers.

Applicants supply a phone number, email, personal and address details, government identification and a selfie. Revolut permits one personal account per person. UK customers aged 16 or 17 have limited accounts; some products, including trading, crypto and credit, are unavailable to them.

Strengths

  • Standard provides a continuing account without a subscription
  • The app identifies the entity serving the account
  • UK transition guidance preserves account details and past statements

Watch out for

  • Standard cash withdrawals have both amount and frequency limits
  • Standard physical-card delivery is charged separately
  • UK accounts for ages 16 and 17 exclude several adult products

Best for

  • UK customers comparing Revolut plans by cash use
  • Existing customers checking their account provider and history
