What it does
Reya is an exchange on an Ethereum rollup, with spot and perpetual order books. Orders match offchain and resulting trades are validated and settled on Reya Network. Perpetual positions within a margin account share collateral and unrealized profit or loss.
Reya separates an order match from its final settlement. That distinction is useful for anyone building a trading client: an execution message needs to be followed through the settlement process before the account records are reconciled. A rare rejected settlement can cancel a previously matched trade.
The developer route starts with public market definitions, which can be read without configuring an account or signer. Order submission then uses a trading wallet to sign the order, sends it through REST or WebSocket, and follows fills and order state through the update feeds. A separate development environment is available for integration work.
Perpetual and spot trades share this submission path, but they create different holdings. A perpetual contract gives price exposure without buying the underlying token. Within a perpetual margin account, unrealized gains can support other positions, and losses affect the same shared balance.
This makes the documentation useful for developers connecting market data, order entry and account reconciliation. The Python toolkit and WebSocket feeds are more relevant to that task than the headline execution-speed claims.
Strengths
- REST and WebSocket paths for order submission
- Public market definitions before account configuration
- Development environment and Python integration toolkit
Watch out for
- A matched trade still needs successful onchain settlement
- Perpetual positions share margin within their account
Best for
- Developers connecting order entry, execution updates and settlement records
