What it does
Rill Cloud hosts dashboards and AI-assisted exploration over shared metric definitions. Teams can maintain SQL and YAML definitions in a project, publish it from Rill Developer and update it through the interface or Git.
Rill Cloud is the hosted part of a workflow that begins with an analytical project. In Rill Developer, SQL and YAML files define the data and measures used by dashboards, so changes can be reviewed alongside the reporting logic.
To share an existing project, select Deploy on its dashboard page. First deployment requires a Cloud account with email verification, or authorization of an existing account. Configure any required data-connection credentials, deploy the project and grant colleagues access. Local changes are sent with Update. Connecting a GitHub repository also supports automatic deployment when project changes are pushed.
| Cloud plan | Seats and projects | API calls | Embedding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Up to 20 seats; 3 projects | 2,500 per seat/month | Previews |
| Growth | Up to 100 seats; 10 projects | 5,000 per seat/month | Paid production capacity |
| Enterprise | Unlimited seats and projects; negotiated capacity | Custom quota | Included; unlimited active embedded seats |
Starter and Growth charge per seat, with hosted project compute billed separately. Managed database storage and excess API or AI usage can add costs. Enterprise uses an annual platform licence. The initial usage credit helps evaluate the service; running projects still needs a budget.
Strengths
- Keeps analytical definitions in reviewable SQL and YAML.
- Combines interactive exploration with shared semantic definitions.
Watch out for
- Hosted compute and some usage are billed separately from seats.
- Starter embedding is limited to previews.
Best for
- Teams maintaining code-defined metrics and interactive analytical projects
