What it does

Rosetta designs type families for several writing systems and lets you browse by script and collection. It sells perpetual retail licences and offers trial fonts for testing. Separate open-source projects, including Mehraban Avestan, are available free through their project pages.

Use Language support to filter for a script such as Arabic, Georgian, Gujarati or Tamil. Collections groups related families, including Adapter World and Skolar, so their different script versions can be found together.

Retail licensing offers Trial, Standard and Custom routes. Standard coverage is purchased by desktop users, monthly web pageviews or app audience. Contractors using the fonts for the licensed client count toward its authorised users; the trial licence is for one person’s testing only.

Rosetta also publishes free open-source releases outside this paid licensing route. For example, Mehraban Avestan’s project page links to its GitHub download and explains its use alongside Mehraban Book Pahlavi in historical-language publishing.

Strengths

  • Organizes the catalog by script support.
  • Focuses on coordinated multiscript families.

Watch out for

  • Retail trials permit testing only.
  • Contractor access must stay within the purchased user allowance.

Best for

  • Multilingual publications.
  • Brands coordinating typography across writing systems.
