Choose a collector relevant to the network and event, then use its MRT RIB or UPDATE archive to reconstruct routing observations. RouteViews’ archive index distinguishes collectors and address-family resources rather than presenting one universal table. Keep the collector and timestamp with a finding: these are BGP control-plane observations from participating peers, not measurements of every forwarded packet. Historical filenames need care. The archive notes that internal timestamps are Unix time, while collector filename time zones changed to UTC in 2003, with one collector switching in 2006. The project describes CC BY 4.0 attribution for its data and separate commercial-use terms for sold derivative products or services.
