What it does
Hands-On Programming with R teaches data objects, environments, functions and other R programming tools through practical examples.
Begin here if writing programs is newer to you than analysing data. The book explicitly targets non-programmers and builds toward practical data-science problems. That emphasis differs from starting with an advanced language reference or a specialized statistical method. The website is free under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The physical book was published in July 2014, so check package and environment details when applying older examples in a current R installation.
