What it does
s3cmd uploads, retrieves and manages objects in S3-compatible services, with synchronization, multipart uploads and script-oriented options.
Use s3cmd sync for repeated object deliveries and preview with --dry-run. Its guide compares destination size and MD5 by default and transfers files that are missing or different. A trailing slash on a source directory copies its contents; omitting it preserves that directory’s name in the output path. --delete-removed can remove destination objects absent locally, while --skip-existing skips a name even when its contents differ. Include/exclude rules refine the selection. The GPLv2 Python client is distinct from the commercial Windows S3Express product, and storage-provider charges are separate.
