What it does
Salesforce Sales Cloud gives sales teams a shared place for accounts, contacts, leads and opportunities. It connects sales activity with account history and offers forecasting, automation and AI tools across different editions. A registered account is required, and the sales pricing page includes a Free Suite alongside paid plans.
Choose the sales edition carefully
Salesforce's sales products share customer records, but the smaller suites and the larger Sales Cloud editions include different tools. The current US price comparison is:
| Edition | USD per user/month | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Free Suite | 0 | Free |
| Starter Suite | 25 | Monthly or annually |
| Pro Suite | 100 | Annually |
| Core | 195 | Annually |
| Advanced | 395 | Annually |
| Max | 550 | Annually |
Sales Cloud has a 30-day trial with no credit card or software installation. Some AI and related applications are additional purchases.
Keeping account handoffs useful
Sales Cloud connects account context with calls, emails, meetings and opportunity work. For a team passing a prospect between sellers, that means the next person can see the relationship history as well as the deal. Salesforce also offers tools for sales planning and partner sales, which should be checked against the chosen edition rather than assumed to be included.
