What it does
Saros DLMM is a Solana exchange that organises liquidity into small price intervals, called bins. Its swap interface includes slippage settings and Safe Mode for limiting high-impact trades. Pool fees combine a fixed base with a variable component that responds to market conditions.
Safe Mode is a useful Saros control to understand before changing a quote. When enabled, it restricts swaps with price impact above 5%. That warning concerns how much the trade moves the pool price; slippage is a separate setting for changes before execution.
Open the DLMM swap page, choose Connect Wallet and select a supported wallet. The official walkthrough uses Coin98. Pick the tokens and amount, inspect the receiving amount and exchange rate, then choose Swap and review the wallet signature request. After completion, tokens appear in the wallet and transaction details can be checked on Solscan. Keep SOL available for gas.
Liquidity is divided into price bins. A swap that consumes several bins can move through several prices, so the liquidity-book model does not guarantee an unchanged price for every order.
Saros charges a base fee plus a variable fee affected by volatility, liquidity imbalance and pool conditions. In the standard configuration, the protocol receives 20% of the resulting trading fee and providers receive 80%; that split is not an additional 20% charge on the trade amount. The DLMM structure is separate from the older Saros AMM fee schedule.
Saros sets a minimum age of 18 or the local age of legal capacity. Its exclusions include citizens, permanent residents and people located in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and several other territories, alongside sanctions and local-law restrictions.
Strengths
- Safe Mode restricts swaps above a defined price-impact threshold
- Swap results link to blockchain transaction details
- Developer toolkits for both pool designs
Watch out for
- Swaps spanning several bins can change execution price
- The variable fee can rise as pool conditions change
- Age, citizenship and territory conditions restrict access
Best for
- Eligible Solana wallet users comparing swaps with price-impact controls
